Missions at First

"We are a community church with a Kingdom mission."

Here in Stockdale

We strive to be on mission here in Stockdale partnering with our school district and the city to serve in a variety of ways. However, our most prominent mission work here in Stockdale is our food pantry. Through our food pantry we are able to serve those in need in our community by providing for their most basic of needs.

This allows us an open door to pray for individuals and families and share the gospel as the Lord allows.

Our food pantry is open every Monday from 9-11 a.m.

Alto Frio

In the spring of 2024, First Baptist Church Stockdale began a partnership with Alto Frio Baptist Encampment to adopt and renovate cabin 301. In 2024 we added electrical outlets between every bunk, painted the restrooms, added mattress covers to the existing mattresses, and replaced the lights with new LED bulbs.

We are continuing this partnership to improve cabin 301 in 2025.

Compassion International

In 2022, First Baptist Church Stockdale began partnering with Compassion International to sponsor children in 2 Compassion Centers in Managua, Nicaragua. While our long-term desire is to take a mission trip down to Nicaragua to see and serve these children that we are sponsoring, currently Nicaragua's governmental leadership has prevented outside organizations, specifically Christian organizations from coming into the country. While we continue to serve these centers through our sponsorship and other financial gifts, we remain prayerful that the Lord would one day open the door for us to take a mission trip to Nicaragua.

South Texas Children's Home

Since 2023, First Baptist Church Stockdale, has served the South Texas Children's Home each spring by providing an Easter egg hunt and a cook out for the families at the location in Pettus, TX. This is an exciting time every year as we get to fellowship and build relationships with not only the children but the house parents.

Dominican Republic

In the spring of 2025, First Baptist Church Stockdale voted to begin a partnership with the South Texas Children's Home to travel to the Dominican Republic for a mission trip. We are looking forward to taking a team to the D.R. not only to serve but to share the gospel. Our desire is to further God's Kingdom work that is already in progress in that country through the STCH.
