Beliefs

What we believe at First Baptist Church Stockdale about salvation, the Bible, & the church

Our Beliefs

About Salvation

  • We believe all have sinned (Romans 3:23)
  • We believe in the Lord Jesus for eternal life (Romans 6:23)
  • We confess Jesus Christ as our personal Savior (Romans 10:9-10)
  • Christianity is a relationship with God. We have been brought into the family of God through faith in Christ to do good works. (Ephesians 2:8-10)

About the Bible

  • The Bible is the Word of God. “It is God—breathed (inspired) and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness.” (II Timothy 3:16)
  • The Bible is practical and relevant. It is God’s revelation of Himself to mankind.
  • The Bible is the true center of Christian fellowship and the standard by which all behavior, opinions, and teaching should be evaluated.

About the Church

  • We are all committed to a close personal walk with God.
  • Worship together in fellowship.
  • Fellowship and unity are God’s plan for His people.
  • Each member of the church family will have the opportunity to use their spiritual gifts in ministry.
  • All of the family will share in the support of God’s work by dedicating our resources and talents to the Lord.
  • God desires our lives to be faithful, fruitful and victorious.
  • We will share our faith in Christ with our community.
